Finding Respite Care — A Place to Start
If you’re here, you may already be carrying a lot.
Caring for someone you love can be meaningful and important — and also exhausting. At some point, many caregivers start to wonder how they can keep going without burning out.
Looking for help can feel like a big step. For some, it even feels uncomfortable to consider.
That’s okay.
This registry exists to make that step possible.
What the registry is
The New Mexico Respite Care Providers Registry is a simple way to find trained respite care providers in your area.
Each provider listed here has:
-
- Achieved certification in the Respite Care Provider Training program provided by the ARCH National Respite Network.
- Passed a background check.
These are independent providers — people offering care in their own way, with their own experience, availability, and approach.
There’s no agency in the middle here. You’re not locked into anything. You’re simply looking at real people who may be able to help.
Taking the first step
You don’t have to figure everything out today.
Many caregivers start by just browsing — getting a feel for who’s out there, what kinds of services are offered, and what might be possible.
You can filter listings by things like:
- Location and distance
- Ages served
- Types of respite care
- Availability and profile details
As you explore, you may begin to see options that feel like a good fit.
That’s enough for now.
When you’re ready to reach out
If someone seems like a good match, you can contact them directly using the phone number or email in their listing.
From there, it’s up to you.
You can:
- Ask questions
- Talk through your situation
- Discuss scheduling, expectations, and rates of pay
- Take as much time as you need to decide
Providers set their own rates, and you’ll work out the details together.
There’s no pressure to move quickly, and no expectation that the first conversation leads to anything. Finding the right fit can take a little time — and that’s completely normal.
A small shift
You don’t have to commit to anything right now.
But if this page helps you think, “I could at least take a look…” — that’s a good place to begin.
